A belt conveyor transports wet biomass from a ground-level hopper to the rotary screen. This conveyor is equipped with a magnetic separator that efficiently removes magnetic materials, such as iron pieces, from the biomass stream.
To ensure optimal drying performance and prevent system blockages, it is essential to pre-screen the wet biomass before it enters the dryer. Our process incorporates a rotary screen with 8 mm hexagonal openings, which promotes a tumbling motion to enhance the separation of oversized particles.
Strategically placed augers within the screen assist in moving the biomass smoothly across the screening surface. This design ensures sufficient residence time for effective separation while minimizing biomass loss.
Located beneath the rotary screen, a screw conveyor transfers the screened biomass into the dryer. This configuration minimizes the risk of cold air infiltration into the drying system. Just below the discharge point of the screw conveyor, a "stone catcher box" is integrated into the dryer piping. This receptacle is designed to trap heavy, non-magnetic objects—such as stones and metal fragments—ensuring they do not enter the drying process.
Our advanced biomass preparation system follows a three-stage approach to ensure that only clean, properly sized material proceeds to the drying phase. This enhances process efficiency and ensures consistent, high-quality output.
